Description

This Ruger Blackhawk revolver, manufactured in 1961, is a robust early-production example of Ruger’s legendary single-action design, chambered in powerful .44 Magnum. This revolver features a 5-inch barrel, shortened from the original factory length—a modification that gives it a more compact profile while retaining its rugged magnum capability.

The revolver retains 80–89% of its original blue finish, with appreciable wear on working surfaces and minor dings and scratches, consistent with its age and field use. The finish has likely been non-professionally touched up, and the walnut grips show typical wear but remain solid. It is mechanically very good and functions properly, offering excellent performance for shooting or collection.

As a Curio & Relic eligible piece from the golden age of American revolvers, this 1961 Ruger Blackhawk is a strong candidate for a working gun, vintage shooter, or historical display in a magnum collection.
