Description

This 1893-production Colt Single Action Army revolver in .38 WCF (.38-40) offers collectors a truly authentic piece of American frontier history. Bearing serial #153503, this revolver features a classic 4 ¾" barrel and exhibits the honest wear of a well-traveled sidearm. The metal surfaces have aged to a mottled pewter and gray patina with light pitting and strong frontier character, particularly around the muzzle and ejector rod housing.

Though the barrel address is faint, other markings—including the circled Rampant Colt on the frame—remain clearly visible. The revolver retains matching serialized parts, with a few period-style replacements including the base pin, trigger, and black checkered plastic grips, which are in very good condition and well-fitted.

Mechanically, this Colt remains sound, with a crisp hammer, reliable timing, and solid lock-up. A Colt factory letter confirms shipment on October 24, 1893, to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis, adding valuable provenance. Whether you're a serious Colt collector or a Western enthusiast, this piece delivers authentic patina and Old West presence.
